Angela and I grew up together (I’ve known this girl since 6th grade), so when she asked if I would shoot some family photos of her growing family, I was beyond thrilled! It’s so crazy to see someone who you’ve known through all periods of your life start a family, and to see what their baby(ies) look like. These are moments we dreamed about as kids! Ang, your family is beautiful!
I seriously have so much fun shooting kids with their parents. First off, I love kids, second off, it’s always fun to see parents and kids interact and to shoot those little moments in between the interactions that we don’t even realize happen.
Can I just say that Spring is my favorite season to shoot in, and this little family is one of my favorites to work with! With the recent rain here in SoCal, Spring is in full bloom, and it is so awesome to see what the rain has brought us! I absolutely love being able to shoot until the sun sets, with flowers blooming, and little girls with the biggest personalities running around with me! It's been amazing to see little Scarlett grow from a baby to a fun little toddler.
A little late on this post... but from time to time I do event photography, luckily enough this time it was in a beautiful setting on Christmas day. Here are some shots from the day.
I've known Cara and Niel for quite some time now, we've been through a few photoshoots together- their engagement session and their wedding. When I got a message from Cara a few weeks ago that she wanted to surprise Niel with an anniversary shoot at the location of where they got married, I was so excited! I met the two of them down in Dana Point on the anniversary of their wedding day, July 13. Niel didn't know that Cara had planned this shoot- I love fun surprises. It was so much fun to be able to go back to Dana Point with these two and reminisce about their special day and talk about what has happened in our lives this past year. Not to mention the weather was beyond perfect! Happy first wedding anniversary, I can't wait to see you guys year after year in Dana Point!!
Some special details:
We ate cake from their wedding day, yes we, I had a bite!
The chalkboard was used for multiple purposes on their wedding day.
The shoes and laces Niel wore were the same ones he wore when they said 'I do'.
Meet the Little family- Chenda, Dominic, and Danica! You may remember Danica from our Princess photoshoot. I absolutely love photographing families and the Little family was no exception! We had a fun time taking a short little hike, picking flowers, and arguing about who is the boss in the family. This was one of my favorite sessions this year. Enjoy the cuteness overload that is about to happen!
Chenda and I met at Crossfit and quickly became friends. After meeting her daughter Danica, I knew that we needed to schedule a shoot as her daughter is just the cutest little girl! Danica was so cute throughout the whole shoot. Rather than asking her to say the typical "cheese" to get her to smile we kept asking her to talk about desserts with us. I learned that Danica loves red lollipops, chocolate cake, picking up sticks, using pixie dust only when it is appropriate, and her parents very much!
Check out our fun little shoot below!
Melissa loves retro, fifties, out of the ordinary. Her bridal shower was totally that! Her theme was fifties housewives and guests were requested to come in their best period outfits. From the awesome outfits, to the decorations, to the food, it was defiantly an afternoon that was so much fun and will not be forgotten.
Melissa, I hope that married life is everything you expected and more!
